1. Social Network, 2010
Released in the year 2010 social network is unarguably one of the best movies on entrepreneur. Talking about none other than Mark Zuckerberg and taking the viewers in the development process of Facebook, the struggles that Mark faces and how he uses events from his daily life to build something which has become one of the major part of everyone’s life is exciting, thrilling and captivating to watch. If you haven’t watched this already then do yourself and your life a favour and watch how a school level website is ruling the internet all around the globe.
2. Moneyball, 2011
Personally one of my favourite movie of all time Moneyball is not just another sports/drama film, it is much more than that. Brad Pitt who stars as Billy Beane, GM of Oakland Athletics the team who hasn’t been successful and is low in budget comes along with Peter Brand, an economic Graduate who both in turn challenges the Old School Selection methods and strategies to build the team and uses sabermetrics strategies to build the team from the scratch. This movie is for the people who don’t go by odds and rules and want to do something in their very own way.
3. The Pursuit Of Happyness, 2006
Based on the true story of the entrepreneur Chris Gardener, the movie shows that if you hold on to your dreams and if you believe in them then nothing can stop you to achieve the same. Will Smith (Chris Gardener) invents a new product but has struggle in selling the same. As gardener tries to figure how to sell the product his wife leaves him and his five year old son. He loses his money, his house but he don’t give up on his dream, his dream of having a better life for his son. The movie shows from how not being able to sell the product to how gardener builds his own multi-billion company despite all struggle he faces financially or personally, something that all the entrepreneurs can relate to.
4. Guru, 2007
Based on the life of one of the most successful businessmen of India, Dhirubhai Ambani the movie talks about how Dhirubhai uses his cunning skills and ruthlessness to create one of the biggest company of the nation. The film shows if one has strong desire and willingness to achieve the same then there is nothing that can stop him from doing the same. Guru in the film is ruthless, cunning and deceptive but he also has a dream and will to achieve the same. If you too have a dream but don’t have the courage to follow the same then this is the movie that you need to see.
5. Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year, 2009
The movie is about Harpreet Singh (Ranbir Kapoor) a B.COM graduate with 39 percent marks who decide to become a salesman. But the behaviour of his boss, his colleagues and the company towards him and the customers forces him to build his own company “Rocket Sales Corporation”
The movie tells us that success has no correlation with grades but it depends upon once excellence. It shows us the importance of customer relationship, picking up right people for the team and the ability to take risk. It shows how a good leader even if he is not academically good can lead a effective team to success.
